PDP Governors Distance Themselves from Atiku Amidst Supreme Court Decision

Atiku Abubakar's former adviser, Dr. Umar Ardo, predicts an impending end to Atiku's tenure in the PDP unless he chooses to part ways with the party.

Dr. Ardo's forecast stems from the noticeable absence of key PDP figures, including governors, during Atiku's post-Supreme Court press conference regarding the recent decision on his Presidential Candidate ticket appeal.

In contrast, PDP Governors, led by Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, swiftly convened to endorse the Supreme Court's verdict, applauding President Bola Tinubu—a move indicative of a divergence in support for Atiku.

Dr. Ardo attributes this shift to Atiku's reluctance to heed advice, citing past mistakes during his presidential campaign that hindered his bid for the presidency.

Ardo contends that Atiku's persistence as a presidential candidate against the Governors' disapproval may lead to his departure from the PDP. He recommends that reconsidering this decision could salvage Atiku's standing within the party, potentially regaining the support of the governors.
